Gentlemen,
Colonial Secretray's Office,
Hongkong, 29th. October, 1909.
CO 2493
Instant,
In reply to your letter of the 12th I
I am directed to point out to you that the first paragraph of
the letter from this department No. 1134/06 of the 20th. of
last August was not contradictory. It states that under existing conditions no fouling of the Pokfulam Reservoir will be permit -ted, but that after the Tytam Tuk further scheme is completed
there would be no objection to fouling, provided that Mr. Pescio paid the cost of pumping water from Tytam to take the
place of the water fouled in Pokfulam Reservoir.
2.
The Director of Public Works will afford
Mr. Pascio what assistance he can in formulating his requirement.
but as no proper survey of the land exists, your client must himself supply plans of the area of building land and other land which he requires. When this has been done, the Government will be in a position to judge finally as to the prices to be charged
for the land.
I am,
etc.,
(sd.) C. Clementi,
p. Col. Secy.
ssrs. Johnson, Stokes and Master.
